"Praise Today Too"

"Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven."  Psalm 148:13

The whole Psalm 148 is about praise to the Lord.  All of creation is to praise Him because He created it and is worthy of praise.  I was thinking about how yesterday was a day filled with praise as we remembered the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus.  How He was victorious over sin, death, hell and the grave.  It was a day of great celebration.  But what about today?  We still have the same reason to celebrate.  But are we?  Will we?

Jesus' glorious victory over sin and the grave was not just an event that we celebrate once a year on a particular Sunday.  The work of the cross.  The empty tomb.  His triumph over the enemy of our soul should be a daily recognition.  Daily we should remember His sacrifice.  Daily we should honor Him.  Daily we should praise Him for His mercy and goodness to us.  Daily we should sing His praises-- never forgetting what He has done for us.

When Jesus walked with His disciples, it changed their lives.  When He was in the grave for three days, they questioned, wondered and even doubted.  But when He rose from the dead on the third day, their lives were forever changed.  It would never be the same.  Because of what He has done, our lives should never be the same.  This is why this morning we woke up with the same praise, adoration and thanksgiving as we did yesterday morning while celebrating the resurrection.  Did you?

Have a great day.  Our celebration of Jesus' victory at the cross and His resurrection should not be a once a year recognition.  We should give Him praise every day for what He has done for us.
