"Just Obey"

"By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went."  Hebrews 11:8

When God told Abram (Abraham) to leave his father's house and go to a place where He would tell him, Abraham went.  He obeyed even though he didn't understand why God was leading him this way.  He obeyed even though he didn't know what God had in mind.  He obeyed even though he couldn't see God's plan.  He obeyed even though God didn't tell him every detail of His purpose.  Abraham trusted God and did as He said--- that's faith.

The land God was sending Abraham to was a land that He would later give him as an inheritance for himself and his generations to come.  What would have happened had Abraham not obeyed because God wasn't more specific and didn't give him all the details?  What would have happened had Abraham not obeyed because he didn't know everything first?  Our account of Abraham in the Bible would probably be much different.

When God speaks to us concerning what He wants us to do, we may not understand it either.  We may not have all the details.  He may not show us the whole picture.  We may not be able to see what He is doing or know what He has in mind.  But whether God does or doesn't tell us everything, we need to have faith and trust Him and do what He tells us to do regardless because there is always a reason, a blessing, and a divine purpose behind what God tells us to do

When God told Abraham to go, he went.  He didn't know that God was going to give him the place He was sending him to for an inheritance.  Abraham received it after he obeyed, not before-- "he should after receive".    When God gives us instructions, even if we don't know where, why or what He is doing, we should obey because He might be planning on giving it to us.

Have a great day.  If we don't obey, we won't receive.
