"The System"

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."  Romans 12:2

This world is made up of systems:  educational, governmental, medical, religious, etc.  Having been brought up in them from a child, we are so geared to following them and can't fathom going outside of their boundaries.  For example, when a child turns school age, we send them off to school.  We can't fathom any other form of education-- such as homeschooling.  When we are ill, we go to the doctor and take a prescribed medicine.  The idea of praying for healing or using alternative treatments is something we don't think about doing.  Even where our religion is concerned, many would never dream of leaving their denomination and "crossing the lines".  It doesn't occur to us that the body of Christ is not made up of denominations but of members.

The world has a system and God has a system.  The world has an economy and God has an economy.  The world has a set of rules, values and principles and so does God.  But there is a difference in the two.  As a matter of fact, not only are there differences, but they mostly conflict with each other.

What system are you living your Christian life by?  The world's or God's?  Are you living by His principles or the principles of the world?  It is easy to live by the world's for the reason I stated earlier-- we were raised in it; we were raised believing this was the only way things were done; it is what is most familiar to us; this is all we know.  But there is another Kingdom that we as followers are now living in in addition to this world, this is why we are told not to be conformed to this world.  We have been given the means/solution by which to be transformed and not conformed-- through renewing our minds with God's Word.  God's Word is the Kingdom standard.  It is the Kingdom principles.  It is our guidelines, rule of thumb, code of conduct and governing precepts.  As it has been said, "We are in the world, but not of the world".  Are you living by the world's system (way of thinking) or by the kingdom principles?

Have a great day.  The world has systems that we have conformed our lives to.  God's kingdom has principles that we should be conforming our lives to.
