"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." Psalm 139:14
When a person receives an organ transplant, they have to take lots of medicines in order to keep their body from rejecting the new organ and accept it. Why? Because that is not their organ. It wasn't made for them. It was made for someone else. It wasn't designed for them. It was designed for someone else. It wasn't part of their anatomy. It was part of someone else's anatomy. Their body is now being made to conform to something that is not theirs but someone else's. Therefore, their body has to be manipulated with drugs and chemicals to accept this organ that is not theirs.
Many people are trying to make their personality, and who they are, transform to someone else's personality. They are trying to be someone else. They are trying to be like someone else instead of who God created them to be. Therefore, they are living frustrated, confused and unproductive lives.
The Lord God created you to be you. He gave you your personality for a reason. He didn't give you someone else's. That is why there is such an inner conflict. You are trying to be someone who you are not.
There is nothing wrong with seeing qualities and admirable traits in others and desire to aspire to be more like that. And even though the Lord created you like He did, He is still working on you to "smooth" the rough edges; to conform you to His image; to bring transformation where needed and to make you into a better you in Him. But He made you you. He didn't make you someone else. So stop trying to be someone you aren't. A lot of your frustration is coming from that, just like a body goes through conflict trying to accept someone else's organ. Be who God created you to be. He made you unique. You are one of a kind. You have been gifted with what you need to fulfill His plan for you.
Have a great day. Don't try to be someone else.
