"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well". Psalm 139:14
Recently, I had an Echo Cardiogram done. I was totally in awe as I lay there watching my own heart on the screen beating and pumping blood. The tech and I were talking about how "fearfully and wonderfully made" we are.
Our bodies are uniquely designed, and it is amazing how they function. Yesterday my husband had a tooth extracted. The dentist told him not to rinse with a mouthwash. They have discovered that our bodies make a "film" over the opening to begin to heal itself-- the mouthwash will wash the film away. Look at our liver. It has the ability to heal itself-- unless it is too badly damaged. That mucus we are always trying to get rid of-- it is suppose to be there. Our bodies produce histamine which helps us in many ways. It is amazing how a woman's breast became "baby bottles" to nurse the infant that was formed in her womb for the past nine months. Our tiny little eyelashes play a big role in protecting our eyes. I could go on, about how wonderfully the Lord has created us and how complicated and amazing the design of our bodies is. Science is continually making discoveries about it.
Having said all that, I want to put this on a more personal and individual level. While we are all created the same, we are not all the same. God designed you. He took time to make you you. He planned you then formed and fashioned you for the plan and purpose He has for your life. There is no other you. You may have similarities to others but you are "one of a kind". You have your own DNA and fingerprints which are never duplicated. No one else on the planet, no one who has ever lived and no one who will ever live in the future is just like you.
I want to encourage you to be the person God designed you to be. Stop trying to be like someone else. Don't try to pattern your life after another person. Don't try to be them. You aren't. The only one you are to be patterning your life after is Jesus. He is the only one you are suppose to be like. He is the only one you are to imitate. It is His image that is to be formed in you--- not that of another person. Let Him live His life through you so that you can truly be the unique person that He created YOU to be.
Have a great day. You are one of a kind, so stop trying to be like anyone else.... but Jesus.
