"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the
spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matthew 26:41
As I was praying about what to share with you this
morning, I kept hearing the phrase- "Watch and pray". Twice this phrase is used
in the scriptures, and both times Jesus was the one who said it. The other
place is found in Mark 13:33- "Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not
when the time is."
I believe this is a word for someone this morning. You
are to simply "watch and pray". Sometimes we miss our answer because we want
some deep, step by step detailed answer. We want the Lord to tell us who, what,
where, when and how. He could but He doesn't always answer like that.
Sometimes we miss our answer because the answer is just too simple. It reminds
me of the time my friend and I went to the nursing home and told a man about the
plan of salvation. He thanked us but told us that what we had said was just too
simple. He thought it should be some hard thing he had to do.
Don't look over this word this morning because you think
your answer should come a certain way or because you think it is too simple. He
"sent" me to tell you to just "watch and pray".
Have a great day. Sometimes our answer is so simple that
we miss it.
