"Who Is This King?"

"Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle."  Psalm 24:8

Who is this King of glory?  I think that sometimes we forget who the Lord truly is.
But on the other hand, do we really know who He is.  We don't always act like we do.  We act like the disciples who were with Jesus in the boat when the storm arose.  Even though they had spent day and night with Him for months, even though they had seen the miracles that He performed, and even though they heard His words, they still asked, "Who is this that even the storms obey Him?"

We can know about the Lord and still not know Him.  We can know all the Sunday School stories, hear the sermons in church, know that Jesus died on the cross and still only know Him from a head knowledge.  Many think they know Him.  Many will stand before Him one day and profess that they know Him.  But they don't.

Those who do truly know Him-- they have fellowship and communion with Him daily through worship, prayer and praise-- sometimes act like they don't know Him.  What I am referring to is that when they have a need they act like He can't take care of it.  When they have a problem, they act like it is too big for Him to handle.  When they are facing a mountain, they act like He can't remove it.  They run here and there and every where else but to Him.  They forget, that He is the King of Glory, who is strong and mighty.  They forget that with Him nothing is impossible.  They forget that the earth was created by Him and held together by Him.  They forget that He is the storm calmer, the fire quencher, the deliverer, the healer, the Savior, the redeemer, the One to whom all power in heaven and earth belongs.  They forget that at His name every knee will bow and tongue will confess that He is Lord of Lords and King of kings.

Do you know Him?  Do you really know Him or just think you do?  Do you know Him but when trouble comes your way you forget who He is?  You forget Him and replace Him with something else?  Do you forget that He is more than able to take care of anything that arises in your life?

Have a great day.  Who is this King of Glory?  Do you know?  Have you forgotten?
