"Did You Laugh?"

"Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?"  Genesis 18:12

This morning we want to talk about Sarah.  The Lord had given her husband Abraham a promise that he would have an heir.  When Sarah heard this, she laughed because she was now ninety years old and her husband was one hundred.  The lesson we learn from Sarah is:  laugh at the promises of God if you will, but He is still faithful as promised.

If God said it, He will do it.  To Sarah it looked impossible, so she laughed about it.  The things that are impossible with men are possible with God.  It doesn't matter what the situation says.  It doesn't matter how the circumstance looks.  It doesn't affect the Lord nor His ability to keep His Word.

There is a saying that goes like this:  Jesus said it, I believe it, that settles it.  That saying is only partially true.  It should go like this:  Jesus said it, that settles it.  God will not lie.  If He said it, that settles it whether you believe it or not.  If you don't believe it, you may miss out on the blessing that is attached to it.  But even Sarah's doubt did not change the promise of God.

Are you in a situation that looks impossible?  Has the Lord spoken a clear word to you concerning it?  Do you have His promise in the matter?  Are you believing it or laughing at it?

Have a great day.  Did the Lord hear you laugh?
