"Unbelief And A Troubled Heart"

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."  John 14:1

There is much in this life that can cause our hearts to be troubled.  We face pain, illness, bad reports, injustices, problems, hurt, sorrow and the list goes on.  I could name even more specific things that happen in life to cause us to be troubled, but there is one root cause to all our troubles.  There is one thing in particular that will cause our hearts to be troubled.  It is found in the next section of the verse-- "ye believe in God".

It is a lack of belief in the Lord that is the root cause of a troubled heart.  Many of you would probably say, "I believe in God".  I am sure you do.  What I am talking about is your lack of belief that in your troubles He will help you and make a way.  A troubled heart comes when we don't believe, or stop believing, that the Lord is with us in our situation.  It comes when we worry about what we are going to do.  It comes when we start looking at our circumstances instead of looking at Him.  It comes when we don't believe that He is with us, that He cares, that He will make a way, that He will open a door, that He will provide the need, and so on.

If we truly believed that the Lord is with us, He is in control, He will make a way and He will help us, then our hearts would not be troubled, anxious, worried or afraid.  Our hearts would be full of trust and faith.  Where you find trust and faith you will find peace.

Have a great day.  When we stop believing the Lord and trusting Him in our situation, our hearts will become troubled.
