"Love Others"

"Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another."  1 John 4:11

God loved us so much that He gave up His Son Jesus to die for us.  God loved us so much He gave us not only a way to be saved through Jesus, but the opportunity to be saved.  He should have left us on our own without hope.  But He didn't.  There is no greater demonstration of love than to lay down your life for someone else-- especially an enemy.  This is exactly what He did.

If He did that for us.  If He loved us in such an amazing way.  If He loved us so much that He was willing to do whatever it took to show us His love.  Then, shouldn't we be willing to do the same toward one another?  If God Himself, humbled Himself to love us so much, why can't we?

Why do we keep holding on to grudges?  Why do we show respect of persons?  Why do we love only those who love us?  Why are we full of hate?  Why are we more interested in self than others.  Why aren't we willing to forgive?

God did not, and does not, have to love us, but He does.  If He loves us in spite of ourselves, can't we love others?  Who is it that you are having a hard time loving?  Ask God to help you to love them.  They may not be "worthy" of your love, but neither were we "worthy" of God's love, but He gave it to us anyway.

Have a great day.  If God loved us who were undeserving of His love, why can't we love others?
