"Prayer"

"Pray without ceasing." 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Such a short verse but a very powerful one. There is power in prayer. But sadly many think that prayer is a particular formula or a position. Prayer is neither, it is an attitude of communion with the Father based on your trust in Him.

Jesus taught us this by example. He prayed all the time. He lived in the place of prayer. He stayed in constant communion with the Father, not just in the times when He would depart into a solitary place to pray.

Have you examined your prayer life lately? Can you call it a "prayer life" (a life of prayer)? Do you only pray at certain times, certain places and in certain situations? Is your prayer time confined to once or twice a day, or on Sunday's only? Do you pray all the time about everything? Do you talk to God on a continual basis?

Prayer is such a wonderful privilege that we have been given. It's an invitation given to us by a holy God, the Creator of the universe to come and make our requests known and have fellowship with Him. How awesome is that! He invites us to come and talk to Him- about everything and at any time, and all the time.

Have a great day. Are you talking advantage of the privilege that you have been given to have communion with God through prayer?
