"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:23
The Lord spoke a word to us at church last evening about "guarding our hearts". I feel I am to share with you what He impressed upon me through this word. His word to us was that we are living in a time when so much is vying for our hearts. There are so many things that want our hearts- relationships, entertainment, money, careers, etc. These things want our devotion, our worship, our allegiance, our attention, our time, but mostly that place that should be reserved for God alone.
Because the return of the Lord is soon it is of the utmost importance that we guard our hearts from being stolen away from Him. We can't afford to let anything pull us away from Him. Our whole hearts must belong to Him- not a portion, not a percent, but all. The first and greatest commandment, according to Jesus, was to love the Lord our God with all our heart.
Is something vying for your heart? Do you feel the pull of other things attaching themselves to your heart? Is your heart being divided? Who has your heart? Does the Lord? If so, is He sharing it with something else or does He have it all? It's not a time to let anything captivate or capture your heart other than Him.
Have a great day. Guard your heart so that it may be preserved for only Him.
