"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
I was telling one of the men at church last night, "Good night" as we were leaving. He responded, "What's good about it?" Of course, this man was joking. But my reply was, "It may be night, but it's still part of this day that the Lord has made." God made the day- all 24 hours of it, all 1440 minutes of it, all 86,400 seconds of it, from 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
We tend to break a day down into segments- AM and PM; morning, noon and night; breakfast, lunch and dinner; nine to five; afternoon, evening, dawn to dusk, and so on. It doesn't matter how we break a day down, God still sees every segment, every minute, every event that makes it up. He sees it from start to finish.
It doesn't matter what time of the day- evening, or daylight, or night time- God is still watching over the day. It doesn't matter if you're in school and it's test time, it doesn't matter if you're at work and it's time for a meeting, it doesn't matter if it's afternoon and time to cook dinner, it doesn't matter if a trial arises, bad news comes, foundations crumbled, the ground falls out from beneath you, God is still watching over the day- all day.
God doesn't just have His eye on the "day" He has His eye on you today and all throughout the day. So take heart as you begin a new day, a new week, that God is watching over you every minute through whatever comes, whether it's in the daylight hours or at night time.
Have a great day. God watches over you ALL day, and night, long.
