"Not Walking Alone"

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." Psalm 23:4

This is probably one of the most well known portions of scripture in the Bible. But when you read it, the first part of the verse doesn't sound very encouraging. It speaks of walking through scary places, shadows, places of death, separation, and evil. These are all places that each and everyone of us have walked through, or will, at one time or other. The encouraging part of the verse is that when we walk through them, we are not walking alone.

The Good Shepherd is walking with us. "The Lord is my shepherd". Not only is He walking with us, but He is leading us gently through them. He has His rod and staff in hand to loving nudge us along our way and reassure us that He is there.

I want to encourage you this morning that regardless of where you may be "walking"- through the valley, through shadowy places, places where death is hanging low, in the presence of evil- you do not have to be afraid because you are not walking by yourself. So do not fear, He is with you.

Have a great day. When we walk through fearful places, we do not have to be afraid because the Lord is walking with us.
