"Bruised"

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised." Luke 4:18

"... them that are bruised." A bruise on the body is an indication of an injury that has taken place on the inside of our bodies. Jesus came to bring liberty to those who are bruised. He is not talking about those who are physically bruised but those who are spiritually bruised. Sin has bruised us spiritually. It has injured us on the inside. It has brought a fatal injury to us-- death. "For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." "The wages of sin is death".

Are you bruised and beaten up by sin? Have you ever come to Jesus to be "healed" (set free) from your sin? Are you bruised or beaten in your heart from hurts inflicted on you by others? Are you bruised by hurts from the past? Whatever has injured you on the inside, Jesus will heal you and set you free from. He will heal the "bruise" and take it away.

When Jesus works in our lives, He does it from the inside out. He goes straight to the root cause and heals it. He doesn't just deal with external symptoms. That's why when He heals, or sets us free, it is complete. "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.".

Let Him heal you from the injury of sin that was inflicted on you through Adam's disobedience in the garden- if you haven't already. If you are injured inside from hurts, pain, remorse, regret, grief, rejection-- anything that has bruised you-- let Him heal that too.

Have a great day. Jesus wants to free you from, and heal, the injuries that have left you bruised on the inside.
