"Just Three Words"

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." Genesis 1:1-3 

Never underestimate the power of God's word. It is powerful-- more powerful than anything else. There is power in just one word. At the beginning of creation God spoke three words-- "Let there be".

 

Let's examine the power behind just those words. At the beginning of creation there was nothing-- "the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep." When God said, "Let there be", He spoke into nothing and created everything. When He said, "Let there be", He spoke into the darkness, and it became light. When He said, "Let there be", He spoke into the chaos and brought order.

 

In those three words what was nothing became something, darkness became light, and chaos became order. Does your life seem lacking? Lacking what you need, lacking in ability? By the power of His word, He can bring forth something- fruitfulness, provision, abundance. Is darkness clouding your heart and mind? His word is light and it can illuminate your situation and give you clarity and understanding. Are you living in chaos and confusion? His word can establish order and bring peace and wisdom. 

 

There is power in God's word, this is why the Centurion said to Jesus, "Speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed". He knew there was power in His word. Do you? Again, never underestimate the power of God's word.
