"How Great Thou Art"

"Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable." Psalm 145:3

This morning our devotional is mainly going to be a song that has been on my heart and I have heard sung several different times this week. It is a "classic". Many of you are familiar with it, can sing each word of it and love it.

As you read the words of the song I want to ask you a question. Do you ever take time to just tell the Lord had great He is? Do you ever just meditate on His greatness, His power, His love? Or does your relationship with Him primarily consist of your needs and wants? By that I mean is the only time you acknowledge Him is when you have a need or are in trouble. The Lord is Great, He is Awesome, He is Omnipotent, He is indescribable and He is worthy of more than just your requests.... He is worthy of your praise.

Take some time today to "sing" His praises. Tell Him how great He is and don't ask for anything. Spend the time giving Him something this time instead of always asking Him for something.

Have a great day. God is worthy of more than just your prayer requests. He is worthy of your praise.

"How Great Thou Art"

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
