"Grind Up The Word"

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Joshua 1:8

I heard that flaxseed was suppose to be good for you so I bought some. In my research about them I discovered that in order to get the most benefit from them, you don't eat them whole you have to grind them up. This made me think about the Word of God. There is no doubt that God's word is beneficial to our entire being-- it is life and health to us. But in order to get the greatest benefit from it we have to "grind" it up.

It is one thing to read God's word, and it is another thing to read God's word. It is not just black words on white paper. It is full of life, it is full of healing, it is full of salvation, deliverance, instruction, wisdom, peace and so on. To "grind" it means that we don't only take the time to read it but we take the time to "hear" what it is saying to us. (He that hath an ear, let him hear.) It is when we "hear" it as well as read it that we gain the most benefit from it.

How do we "grind" it? By meditating on it. By pondering it in our hearts. By gaining revelation knowledge from it-- what is God saying and what does He mean, and how does it apply to me.

As you read God's word, don't just read over it. Don't just read it out of habit or religious duty, but read it in a way where you will get all the benefit from what it is saying. Break it down, search it out, study it and then "digest" it into your heart.

Have a great day. Just reading the Word of God doesn't give you all the benefit that is in it. You have to read it, meditate on it, and get revelation knowledge of what it is saying.
