"Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do." Hebrews 4:13
Yesterday as I was walking out of the laundry room- which happened to be a mess with clothes waiting to be washed, others waiting to be ironed and others waiting to be folded- the thought came to me,"When it's a mess, just close the door and nobody can see it." Immediately the Lord spoke something to my heart. Let me share it.
Doors are nice to have for many reasons. Yesterday it was nice to have a door to close off the laundry room from view so that no one could see the mess that was in there. Many of us have "messy" places in our lives and we try to "close the door" to keep them out of God's view because we don't want Him to see what's in there. This may work in the physical realm with real doors and rooms, but it doesn't work when you are talking about issues in our lives and trying to hide them from God. You can't hide anything from God- He sees everything, He knows everything, nothing is hid from Him.
What are you trying to "close off" from God's view? What is that "secret sin" that you are trying to hide from Him? What is it that you are hoping He won't see so that you don't have to deal with it? What is that neglected thing that you don't want exposed because you plan to do something about it later? It's nice to close a door to keep what's behind it from being revealed, but one day you have to go back and open it. Shutting the door to the laundry was only a "temporary" fix, I am going to have to open it at some point and deal with what is in there that needs to be dealt with. You can't keep the doors in your life closed forever, one day you are going to have to open them and deal with what's in there. Today would be a good time to do just that.
Have a great day. You can't close a door and think that God won't see so you might as well open it and let Him in.
