"Sidetracked"

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before," Philippians 3:13

If we aren't careful, sometimes it is easy to get off track and set our affections and attention on the wrong thing, the things of the flesh, and temporal things. We are supposed to keep pressing toward those things which have eternal value-- heavenly things, things above, the Lord Himself.

Have you gotten "side-tracked"? Are you lacking in the area of pressing toward heavenly things? Did you lose your focus? Have you set your affection on things of this world and off of the things that are heavenly?

With each new day comes a new opportunity to get back on track and get refocused. Each new day is a new beginning. Yesterday is gone, the past is the past. But ahead of you this morning is a new day, a new dawn, a new chance. That's because God's mercies are new every morning.

When the prophet Balaam was heading the wrong direction-- he had gotten his eyes on the riches that were to be gained and off of his devotion to the Lord-- the Lord sent an angel with a sword to get him heading back in the right direction. He also sent a donkey to talk to him and correct him. This morning, if you have stopped heading in the right direction and are heading the wrong way, the Lord isn't sending an angel or a donkey, He Himself is standing before you with outstretched arms to help you get back on track, refocused and heading in the right direction- upward. Let Him help you.

Have a great day. Have you gotten side-tracked, off-track, heading in the wrong direction? Today is a new day and you have a new opportunity to get refocused and heading in the right direction.
