"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
There are times when our physical bodies get tired and grow weary, but our inner man should never grow weary in our service, devotion and love for God. There shouldn't be any times of weariness of heart when it comes to walking with our Lord- at least according to the verse above.
The reason we seem to be weary of living for the Lord and tired in our service that we are doing for Him boils down to one reason- we aren't communing with Him. You see there is something that happens when we are in continual communion with the Lord- it's call renewed strength.
When you are in constant communion with the Lord (not just on Sundays or when you are in need but in daily unbroken fellowship) you are abiding in His presence. When you are in His presence, there is joy- the joy of Lord. ("Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." Psalm 16:11) Where His joy is there is strength- His strength. ("For the joy of the Lord is your strength." Nehemiah 8:10) And His strength is made perfect in our weakness. ("And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Cor. 12:9)
It's a "chain reaction"- one action influences the next. When you are in unbroken fellowship with the Lord there is joy, and from that joy comes strength, with strength comes service, from service the Lord receives glory. If you are neglecting your fellowship with the Lord it causes a "chain reaction" too- a negative one. Where fellowship with the Lord is lacking there is no joy, no joy means no strength, no strength means weariness, weariness means no service, no service means no fruit... and it just goes on and on.
Have you become weary in your service and devotion to the Lord? Then you need to go back and take a look at the first "link" of the chain. Your reason will be found there.
Have a great day. Our bodies may grow tired and weary, but our inner man will be renewed with strength as we have unbroken fellowship with the Lord.
